10.00 Planning for life after death: laws of succession vs. the new
biology
Most individuals are accustomed to having a relatively broad ability to control
the disposal of their property following death. It comes as a surprise how
little ability people have to control what happens to themselves, and the uses
to which they can be put. This plenary session will examine the ability to
control burial and the use of body parts, the posthumous use of genetic
material, inheritance by posthumously procreated individuals, and exhumation for
the purpose of genetic testing.

Rubenstein, co-managing partner, Katten Muchin Rosenman, USA
10.45 Role-play
Global planning for the future – an advisor's guide to the international client
The average international client is fast-moving, uses the latest
technologies and is involved in many projects. But however similar the
fundamentals, the individuals or families are unique and so are their needs.
Taking into consideration the many different steps in finding the most suitable
structure in the right jurisdiction with the most capable investment managers,
private client advisors need to keep on their toes to provide the service they
are so keen to deliver. This role play will see the audience split in groups to
think through some of the processes that need to be undertaken and identify what
other options may be available.
